Quixtar Making A Difference |
Quixtar's parent company, Alticor, makes a difference in the communities in which it operates through the One by One program, focusing global philanthropic efforts, through donations of time and funds, on the needs of children.
Quixtar's supported One by One by becoming a national sponsor of Easter Seals in 2003 and a presenting sponsor of Walk With Me, Easter Seals' signature event, with a donation of $200,000.
Throughout the years, donations by Quixtar and Quixtar Independent Business Owners (IBOs) have been a powerful force in support of Easter Seals. Through these donations, more than 3.3 million individuals with disabilities and their families have been served through Easter Seals' 500 service sites across the country.
Last year, donations by Quixtar and Quixtar IBOs totaled more than $800,000. Quixtar has renewed its commitment to Easter Seals and encourages all to join Quixtar IBOs and us in supporting this worthy organization.
Quixtar also serves as a national sponsor of the U.S. Dream Academy. Established by renowned gospel singer the Rev. Wintley Phipps in 1998, the U.S. Dream Academy empowers at-risk youth by providing them with academic, social, and values enrichment through supportive mentoring programs.
The U.S. Dream Academy places a special emphasis on children with an incarcerated parent, as studies show that these children are six times more likely to end up in prison one day. The U.S. Dream Academy also provides programs for children falling behind in school as these youth also are at higher risk for future incarceration.
In addition to contributing to the organizations Quixtar supports, IBOs give thousands of dollars and hours of time each year to dozens of organizations close to their hearts.
