Quixtar and Environmental Responsibility

Quixtar is committed to offering high-performance products that have a minimal impact on our natural environment. Exclusive products marketed by Quixtar are manufactured by its sister company, Access Business Group LLC, including such top brands as artistry® skin care and cosmetics, nutrilite® nutritional supplements, SA8® Laundry Solutions, and l.o.c.® multi-purpose cleaners.

Access is dedicated to environmentally sound manufacturing practices. It monitors government programs that endorse "environmentally preferable" products but does not participate in them because there is little consistency from state to state and because their standards for environmentally sound manufacturing are typically inferior to those already used by Access.

Some key environmental considerations with Access manufactured products are:
  • Most of the cleaning products Access manufactures are concentrated, which means less impact on the environment from packaging, wasted transport energy, and storage space.
  • Plastic packaging for home care products exceeds the most stringent state requirements for post-consumer recycled content.
  • All products meet or exceed the most stringent requirements for volatile organic compound (VOC) content.
  • Surfactants used in cleaning products are rapidly biodegradable.
  • Access' manufacturing facilities operate under a formal Environmental Management System (EMS) that successfully limits waste and energy consumption to minimal levels.
  • Many of the ingredients used in nutrilite nutritional supplements are grown on Nutrilite's own farms, most of which are certified organic. Organic refers to the method of farming that relies on the earth's natural resources to fight pests and to add nutrients to the soil. Nutrilite has always used environmentally responsible farming methods that support a healthy soil environment without the use of synthetic chemical pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers.

Certified organic means that the appropriate independent agencies have inspected each of the farms and found them to have met the strict standards set by the certifying agency. Organic farms must maintain detailed records of all their farming methods including all soil inputs.

In addition to these environmentally sound practices, Access is continually seeking new and innovative research and development and manufacturing methods that will improve its stewardship of our natural environment.
