Quixtar and Online Criticism |
The internet provides a convenient forum for individuals to express opinions - both positive and negative. Personal websites and blogs provide an easy way for anyone with an opinion to communicate with a potentially broad audience.
Negative websites are a fact of life for all major corporations today. There is no distinction between credible sources and those based on personal opinion. Even companies with the most sparkling reputations have dozens of critics who actively share their opinions online, and Quixtar is no different. Some people use the web to express views about companies, opportunities, products, or individuals. Some sites are factual, others share personal opinions or experiences, and others spread misperceptions or mischaracterizations.
We believe those who have legitimate issues with Quixtar, Independent Business Owners (IBOs), or aspects of our business should contact the company for assistance. We offer a number of consumer safeguards, including customer satisfaction guarantees on all products available through Quixtar and all training and support materials sold by IBOs. Also, Quixtar actively enforces its business rules, investigating all complaints brought to its attention by unsatisfied consumers and taking necessary actions. We cannot take action and resolve issues that are aired online but never formally brought to our attention.
Negative commentary about Quixtar and IBOs is sometimes the result of a lack of understanding of our business model or of isolated experiences that do not represent our norm. We hope that anyone writing about Quixtar will get the facts so as to avoid posting information that may be false or misleading. While we welcome disagreement and discussion, we believe respect for basic rights, as well as honesty and civility, are essential to any marketplace of ideas, including the internet.
Quixtar is deeply committed to protecting its valuable brand for the company's many stakeholders, including hundreds of thousands of IBOs across North America who depend upon its good name for all or part of their livelihood. We respect the right everyone has to express their opinion, in a country where freedom of speech is a precious right and vigorously defended
However, in cases where legitimate slander, libel, or trademark infringement has been discovered, Quixtar has taken action. Quixtar has a vigorous enforcement program designed to protect its brand and trademark identity online and has actively pursued approximately 300 websites. Quixtar has resolved more than 160 cases through informal negotiations, arbitration, and litigation.
We continue to prefer and request that those with legitimate concerns communicate with us, directly, and without causing harm to all IBOs and Quixtar through internet-centered criticism. To engage in criticism online without attempting first to resolve matters offline is the equivalent of committing vandalism to a storefront because you had an experience you didn't like at the store. And in some cases, we get "vandalized" by people who have, in fact, had little or no experience with Quixtar, for reasons we leave others to judge for themselves.
